Waco Tribune-Herald (Waco, TX); 2 Oct 1980 Boyd Tips McGREGOR - Boyd P. Tipps, 74, of McGregor, a retired mechanic, died Tuesday in a Waco hospital. Services were at 10:30 AM today at Cole Funeral Home, the Rev. C.P. Hankins officiating. Graveside services were at 2 PM today at Liberty Hill Cemetery near Hubbard. Mr. Tipps was born Aug. 27, 1906 in Aquilla. He attended Elm Mott schools and moved to McGregor about 1963. He was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ethel Tipps; a son, Alvin B. Tipps of Alvin; two sisters, Mande Gaston and Ora Willingham, both of Christoval; five brothers, R.E. Tipps of Levelland, Havens Tipps of Sacramento, Calif., Leo Tipps of Grand Junction, Colo., Jenkins Tipps of Lubbock and Horace Tipps of Waco; and three grandchildren.
