Bio

Miss Tippit graduated from the University of Utah with honors and a major in chemistry. She then began working Dr. Vincent Kelley’s Pediatric Endocrinology lab at the University of Utah Medical School. In 1958, she moved to Seattle to continue her medical technology work in pediatric endocrinology at the University of Washington Medical School, where she retired in 1985. Her father, Howard, died in Salt Lake City in April 1947. Her mother, Florence, died in 1981, but, before her death, she and Doris traveled extensively in the western United States and in Canada during every vacation. She was very active in the Ravenna United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and designed and made many of the church’s banners. She accepted Christ as her Savior in 1941 at Centenary Methodist Church in Salt Lake City. Several years ago Doris was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. She is survived by her uncle, Wilbur F. Roberts Sr. and wife, Nettie, of Odessa; aunts, Laverne Roberts of Independence, Mo., and Sue Roberts of Valiant, Okla.; cousins, Judge W. F. "Corky" Roberts and wife, Tonya, of Amarillo, Roy E. Roberts and wife, Linda, of Independence, Mo., Jerry W. Roberts Sr. and wife, Faye, of Odessa and Janice Roberts of Oklahoma City; and also a very special friend, Dorothy Kelley and her family of Seattle; and numerous friends.
