John STRITECKY; 26; Dec 1916 Record 41102 On US Census 1920, 1930 and 1940, family home was in Colome, Tripp County, South Dakota The Schuyler Sun (Schuyler, Nebraska) 08 Apr 1954, Thu Page 6 John Strickey, Sr. Passed Away Monday A retired Butler County farmer, John Stritecky, 63, died at Memorial Hospital early after an illness of only one day. Mr. Stritecky was born in Czechoslavakia, July 2, 1890. He was a son of Vincent and Katherina Stritecky. When he was 19 years of age he came to the United States and resided a while in Texas. In 1916, he came to Nebraska and on Dec. 2, married Clara Eckstein in Omaha. They established their home in Colume, S. Dak., where they lived until moving to Linwood in 1951. Immediate survivors are his wife; one son, John Jr. of Edgemont, S. Dak.; four daughters, Agnes, Mrs. Frances Chvatal of Morse Bluff, Lydia, Mrs. Charles Hazuka of Burke, S. Dak., Adeline, Mrs. Rudy Toman of Oacoma, S. Dak., and Sophie, Mrs. Stanley Havelka of Weston; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph of Colume, S. Dak.,, and Jerry in Czechoslovakia and one sister, also in Czechoslovakia. The body lay in state at Bideaux Chapel until Wednesday noon, when removal was made to the ZCBJ Hall in Linwood for service at 2 p.m. Dr. John Filinger officiated. Burial was in Killian Cemetery near Morse Bluff.
