Bluff Saunders County Resident for 52 Years Morse Bluff, April 16 - Mrs. Antonia Haba, a resident of Saunders county for 52 years, died at her home in Morse Bluff, Monday after a lengthy illness. Her husband preceded her in death seven months ago. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Z.C.B.J. hall. Burial was made at the Killian cemetery. Mrs. Haba was born June 3, 1847, in Nove Dvory, Bohemia. Her maiden name was Antonia Dvorak. In her childhood she lost both parents and was reared by her eldest sister. In the year 1871 she married John Haba, with whom she came to this country three years later. They first lived in Omaha for five years, then moved to Saunders county. They settled near *Rescue on a farm. There they lived through pioneer days, until 1912, when they retired from farming and moved to Morse Bluff. Mrs. Haba was a member of the Z.C.B.J. lodge since August 13, 1899. The following children survive: James, near Bruno; Joseph, near *Rescue, Mrs. Barbara Machan, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; and Mrs. Mary Kaplan of Morse Bluff. There are 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. [Note: *Rescue, Nebraska was in a northwest part of Saunders county, now abandoned as a "ghost town." ]
