Bio
Thomas Howard Murphy, 44, passed away at Baylor Medical Center of Dallas on Thursday, July 29, 2010. Thomas was born on June 15, 1966 to James J. and Jessie Lou (Coker) Murphy in Ennis, Texas. He grew up in Palmer and graduated from Palmer High School in 1985. He worked for the Ellis County Sheriff Department for over sixteen years as a 911 dispatcher. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He loved to play guitar and had been in several bands in the area. He is survived by his mother, Jessie Lou Murphy: three sisters, Sonja Murphy, Stephanie Roach and Shelley Murphy; grandfather Aubrey Coker; two nephews; two nieces and five great nieces. He is preceded in death by his father James J. Murphy in 2004. Visitation will be Friday, July 30, 2010 from 6 until 8 p.m. at J. E. Keever Mortuary. Services will be on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Mitchel Forester officiating. Interment will follow at Palmer Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. In lieu of flowers the family request donation be made to Southwestern Transplant Foundation, www.swtransplan.org or Texas Scottish Rite Hospital www.tsrhc.org.
