Ernie" Earnhart Louis "Ernie" Earnhart, 68, of Benbrook died Aug. 1, 2010, at Medical City Hospital in Dallas. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Sam Calk officiating. Burial will be in Clifton Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The son of Edgar Lee and Rachael Lucille Gibson Earnhart, he was born Nov. 27, 1941, in California. On Aug. 29, 1969, he married Charlene Arnice Gilbert in Oklahoma. Mr. Earnhart served in the U.S. Navy. He was a truck driver/trainer for Steven's Transport. He retired from Mrs. Baird's and Raytheon. He was a member of Lone Oak Assembly of God and was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. Survivors include his wife, Charlene Arnice Earnhart of Rockwall; his mother, Rachael Lucille McMahon; two sons, Russ Earnhart of Ovilla and Jonathon Earnhart of Greenville; two daughters, Elise Elaine Earnhart Bigory of Greenville and Stephanie Ann Earnhart Cherry of Texarkana, Texas; sister Karen Earnhart Smith of Granbury; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His father; wife; a brother, Jerry Earnhart; stepfather C.H. McMahon; and a grandson, Corey Mitchell Whitaking, preceded him in death.
