Birth date on headstone is wrong per Danny Leshikar
She was born in Cermna, Bohemia house # 158.
"The late Rozalie Lešikar rests here in the lord, born on September 28, 1824 in Cermna in Bohemia. She died October 2, 1922 in Seaton Texas. Sleep sweet, mother, in her grave. We'll never forget you." The depiction of a ship's anchor on the tombstone is very interesting. Apparently it's supposed to express that great-grandmother got to Texas by boat, across the ocean. I noticed that there are also leaves or twigs of trees, maybe it could be a Czech Linden. Linden is the Czech national tree. Linden leaves, however, have a more heart-like shape. Hooks and commas above letters are called diacritical marks. In the last sentence, the stonemason wrote a comma before the word "mother". This is done when you complete the sentence with another important piece of information. In this case, the word "mother" It could be without the word "mother", but separated by a comma it gives the sentence an emotional meaning. Translated by Jiri Lešikar of Tatenice, Czech Republic.
