Bio
Son of Lydia Ann Brooks and Silas Dixon Hollowell. His father was born August 1, 1845 in Hardinsburg, Washington County, Indiana and served in the Civil War, Union Army, as a Private in the Illinois Infantry from March through June 1865. In 1880, Leslie was living with his parents and siblings in Windsor, Kansas (Cowley County). The household included: S. D. Hollowell, age 35, born in Indiana; Liddia A., age 26, born in Illinois; William, age 6, born in Illinois; Livi, age 4, born in Illinois; and Lesly, age 1, born in Kansas. He married Eunice in 1903. They would have four children; Irvin, Connie, Dorthea, and Arline H. In 1910, they were renting a farm in Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County). They had two children, both born in Oklahoma: Irvin, age 6; and Connie, age 4. By 1920, they had bought a farm next to the farm her parents bought in Lexington. They had one more child, Dorthea, age 2 7/12. By 1930, they were living on their farm in Lexington. Their household included: Leslie Holowell, age 50,, married at age 23; Eunice E., age 47, married at age 19; Dorothy E., age 12; Arline H., age 9; and his brother-in-law, Raymond Webb, age 37, born in Nebraska.
