Bio
SEGUIN - Virgie M. Hughey of Seguin passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, at the age of 72. Mrs. Hughey was a devoted wife and mother, loving her daughter above all else, doting on her grandsons, and tolerating her husband of 50 years. She was a volunteer firefighter in Kerrville, and also obtained an exterminator license. Mr. and Mrs. Hughey designed and built their home in Lubbock, which took them 13 years to build on their own. Mrs. Hughey is survived by her husband, Pat Hughey of Seguin; a daughter, Sandra Price and husband Loyd of Lubbock; grandsons, Pat Price, Mike Price, and John Price of Lubbock; a sister, Marie Cook of Washington; and a brother, Charlie Bellah of Corpus Christi. Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 6, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Palmer Mortuary in Seguin. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to your local Hospice. Arrangements are by Palmer Mortuary of Seguin, (830) 379-9430.
