Married Minerva Anne "Annie" Morgan on December 25, 1901 in Cass County, TX. History of Cass County People, By Cass County Genealogical Society, Atlanta, Texas Robert Benjamin "Ben" Rankin was born and reared in Cass County. His father was James Alexander Rankin and his mother was Sarah Elizabeth Cloninger. Ben had two brother ans three sisters. Ben married Minerva Anne Morgan in 1901. He bought the Rankin home place in the Gravity Community between Linden and Hughes Springs, and reared his family there. There were eleven children born to them, ten of whom lived to adulthood. The children were as follows: James Lester, Robert Jewel, Ola Marteen, Claude L., Bernice, Ruth, John Brasher, Ina Rhea, William F. "Doc", Nona and Lennis Morgan "Bill". Ben farmed the land he owned, provided a Christian home in which to rear his children, served his community, his church, his county and his country with honor.
