Faye Traverso Lena Faye Traverso, 90, of Houston passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at her home. She was born September 28, 1916, to William Thomas and Jenny (Lawson) Purvis in Waller, Texas. Faye worked many years at Lyons Grocery, enjoyed playing '42' and loved working in her yard. She spent 54 years in Baytown and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Traverso, 8 brothers and sisters and nephew, Malcome Purvis. She is survived by her nieces, Beverly Oldham, Earlene Simms and her husband, Leroy, Bernice Schmidt, Leola Marshall, Dorothy Cudd, Sharon Weston and Carolyn Standley and her husband, Ray, nephews, Ray Sanders and his wife, Barbara, Max Meinen and his wife, Becky, Jerry Lyons and his wife, Donna, Fredrick Weston and his wife, Kathy, Sonny Mansell and his wife, Dot, Bobby Hasty and his wife, Doris, John Purvis and his wife, Doris, Clifford Purvis and his wife, Barbara, Michael Hunt and his wife, Connie, brother-in-law and sister-in-laws, L. B. & Oline Traverso and Estelle Weston. The family will receive friends at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home on Thursday, at 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 pm officiated by Rev. Jerry Lyons. A private burial will take place at the Masonic Cemetery later that day. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be her nephews.
