Bio

Elisha, age 18, enlisted in the Confederate States Army on 7 September 1861 in Houston, Texas. He was mustered in Company D, 8th Texas Cavalry. Mustered in "for the war" with Company D in Houston on September 7, 1861.(Age listed as 18, provided equipment valued at $35) Listed as present on the October 31 Company D Muster Roll. (Pay due since enlistment) Listed as Absent on the Company D Muster Roll for Nov. & Dec. 1861. (Not Paid) "Hospitalized at Nashville since 27 Dec." Died from typhoid fever in Nashville in 1862. (Claiborne indicates February, Bunting indicates July.)
