John Edward Reid Funeral services for John Edward Reid, 62, of 803 Ward St., will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Colonial Chapel of the Sullivan Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Eagle Creek Cemetery, Harleton. Reid died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 1981 at his home after a long illness.' Born May 6, 1919 in Winnsboro, he was the son of William. Edward Reid and Rena Florence McMullen. He attended Roansboro Public School and an automobile trade school. 45. Reid served in the U.S. Army during World War II, from 1941- He was employed as an auto mechanic by Nehls Chevrolet Olds Cadillac of Marshall from 1947-69. He had previously worked for Scott Buick and Pontiac Co. of Marshall. Survivors include his mother, Rena McMullen Reid of Mar-hall, one brother, James Reid of Diana; two sisters, Mrs. Russell (Minnie Lee) Sutton of Gilmer and Mrs. Carol (Mildred) Allen of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Cecil Hancock, Marshall Neil Peek, David Rutledge, Johnny Allen, Ray McMullen and R.M. Walsh. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. George E. Bennett and Glen Byman..
