Bio

Florence Irena Reid Funeral services for Florence Irena Reid, 88, of 803 Ward St., Marshall, were held at 1:30 p.m. today in Colonial Chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Brittain officiating. Burial was in Eagle Creek Cemetery, Harleton. Mrs. Reid died Saturday, April 6, 1985, in Ford Memorial Hospital, Gilmer, after an extended illness. She was born Jan. 27, 1897, in Winnsboro, the daughter of James and Mary McMullen. She attended Wood County public schools and married William Edward Reid on Sept. 3, 1916, in Coldwater Community, Wood County. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Her husband died on April 30, 1977. Survivors include one son, James Reid of Diana; one daughter, Carol Mildred Allen of Marshall; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one brother, John McMullen of Marshall. Pallbearers were Cecil "Buddy" Hancock, David Weaver, Troy Lee Newman, Floyd Newman, Jerry Don Jones and Doyle Jones.
