Bio

Published in the Athens Review December 29, 1972 Tobe R. Dingler, 79, of the New York community died Friday at 5:15 a.m. in a Jacksonville hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Dingler was a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of the New York and LaRue area. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the New York Baptist church, of which he was a member. The Rev. Lee Teakel, pastor of the Cove Springs Baptist church at Hubbard, will officiate. Burial will be in the New York cemetery under the direction of the Carroll and Lehr Funeral Home. Mr. Dingler married Miss Johnnie Reynolds in 1916 in Baxter. She survives. Other survivors are two sons, Reynolds M. Dingler of Comstock and Durward (Shorty) Dingler of LaRue; one sister, Mrs. Jim Hogg Reynolds of LaRue; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Boss Cobb, Owen Costlow, James Dingler, Billy Dingler, Elliout Reagan and Carter Monk.
