Bio

Weldon Wesley Bell, 60, went home to be with his Savior on Saturday, July 10, 2010, surrounded by his loving family after courageously battling cancer for 2 1/2 years. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, Mansfield. Interment: Skyvue Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Blessing Funeral Home. Weldon was born Dec. 26, 1949, in Fort Worth. He was a generous and caring man, tremendously loved by his family, friends and co-workers. He was part of the R.E. Sweeney Lumber Co. family for more than 20 years. He loved his wife and daughters, his work, and also enjoyed camping, traveling, reading and the outdoors. He was a wonderful, devoted father who spent many years participating and coaching his daughters' sporting events. He was an active member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church. Weldon was preceded in death by his father, Weldon V. Bell. Survivors: Left with many precious memories are his beloved wife of 39 years, Sammie Jo; daughters, Jennifer and Kimberly; mother, Mary "Mickie" Bell; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ralph Richason of Athens; mother-in-law, Billie Hudgins of Cleburne; and many extended family members and friends.
