Bio
J. Raymond "Ray" Meese 68, of Ord did April 11, 1997 at his farm northeast of Ord. Ray was born June 20 1928 northeast of Ord in the Noble township to John and Velma Cronk Meese. He was raised on the family farm, attended the Brick Country School in Valley county and also attended Ord High School. He farmed with his parents until he entered the United States Army. He was discharged and returned home because of his father's ill health on July 24,1951, he did continue in the Army Reserve. On Dec 28 1953 he married Lorene Petska in Ord. He continued to farm on the home place until his death. He is survived by his mother Velma of Ord, his wife Lorene of Ord, two daughters; Suzanne Farmer of Lincoln and Carol Konkoleski of Mesa Az, three sons; Michael Meese of Hastings, Darrell Meese of Seward Ne. and Charles Meese of Los Osos Ca., four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, one great grandchild, brother William Meese of Ord, three sisters, Charlotte Meese of Ord, Adeline Absalon of Fallschurch VA and Mildred Christoffersen of Rabun Gap, Ga His father preceded him in death. Funeral services were held April 15 at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord with Fr. Jim Warner officiating. Burial was in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. from "The Ord Quiz"
