Bio

ORD -- Charlotte Adeline Meese, 85, of Ord, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at Valley County Health System Hospital in Ord. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. The Rev. Tom Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ord Memorial Chapel, with a rosary at 7. Ms. Meese was born March 7, 1924, in Valley County to John T. and Velma A. (Cronk) Meese. Survivors of her immediate family include a brother, William Meese of Ord, and two sisters, Mildred Christoffers of Clayton, Ga., and Adelene Absalon of Falls Church, Va. She is also survived by a host of relatives and friends. Charlotte was raised on the family farm northeast of Ord and received her education at the Brick School in the Noble Township of Valley County. She lived on the family farm until 1952, when she moved into Ord with her parents. While in Ord, she enjoyed going for car rides and having coffee at McDonald's. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Her hobbies included reading and music. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, J. Raymond Meese. Memorials are suggested to the St. Mary's Catholic School.
