The following obituary appeared in The Decatur Daily on February 18, 1935: Former Countian Dies in Kentucky Funeral rites were held at Friendship cemetery, near Falkville Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Bertha Sherrill, 35, who died Friday at Smith Grove, Ky., after a short illness of influenza. Brown, of Decatur, directed burial. Mrs. Sherrill, a former resident of Morgan county, is survived by her husband, Ed Sherrill, two daughters and a son, all of Smith Grove, Ky. --
