Daughter of Tom Thomas and Ethel Belle Price OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, March 12, 1931 BETTY JEANE THOMAS Betty Jeane Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Thomas, died at the Yocom hospital on Friday afternoon, March 6, 1931, at 2:15 o'clock, after an illness of but three days. Her demise was due to a ruptured appendix. Largely attended funeral services, conducted by Rev. Wilbur Prall, of Lamoni, assisted by Elder Parley Batten, of Chariton, were held at the Latter Day Saints church in this city on Monday afternoon at two o'clock, after which she was laid to rest in the Chariton cemetery. The floral tributes were many and beautiful, emblems of love for the little girl who had gone on before, and sympathy for the ones so greatly bereaved. Little Betty Jeane was born in Chariton on July 5, 1923, and had attained the age of seven years, eight months and one day. She was the sunshine of the home and a favorite among her schoolmates and playmates. She possessed a sweet and sunny disposition and was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed in the family circle and by many friends. The near ones left to mourn her passing are the parents and a little brother, Tommy Jr., her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Price, of Hemingford, Nebraska, and two great grandmothers, Mrs. Miles Price and Mrs. Eliza McCormick, both of Russell.
