Bio

Mollie Beseda, 88, of Lubbock, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 8, 2008, in Lubbock. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Monsignor Gene Driscoll will be the Celebrant. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today, at Resthaven Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mollie Philomena Beseda was born Oct. 24, 1919, in Aquilla, to Leopold and Frances (Marek) Ruzicka. She attended school and business college, but had already worked as a bookkeeper ln her father's cotton ginning business from an early age. She married Joe Beseda on Oct. 26, 1941, in Abbott. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2006. Mollie volunteered with the Pink Ladies at Methodist Hospital, with the Altar Society at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Morton, and at Christ the King Cathedral in Lubbock. She was an avid gardener all her life. Her family remembers her with a ready smile for everyone she met and her favorite song was "You Are My Sunshine." She had a loving, giving, generous spirit, she loved her family deeply, and she especially loved children. She will be greatly missed. Mollie was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Surviving relatives include her children, Larry Beseda and wife Twyla of Levelland, James Beseda and wife Jane of Los Angeles, Calif., Patsy Towe and husband Jay of Silverton, Doris Beseda of Lubbock; grandchildren, Joey, David, and Chad Beseda, Julie Cole, Braden Towe, and Berkeley Fahrenthold; her sister, Frances Wilkerson, and her brother, Jerry Ruzicka, both of Lubbock; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leopold and Frances Ruzicka; a sister, Evelene Greener; and a brother, Leo Ruzicka. The family suggests memorials to The Make-A-Wish Foundation or the Ronald McDonald House.
