~~~~~~ Chvatal, Thomas 1897-1988 Thomas Chvatal, 90, of Colon, died Monday at St. Joseph Villa in Omaha. He was born September 17, 1897 in Prague to Anton and Mary Chvatal. A farmer, he was married to Gustie Coufal on November 28, 1922, in Abie. He lived in Colon since retiring in 1950, then worked as a carpenter and painter, He was a member of the Colon Town Board at the time of his death. Chvatal is survived by his wife, Gustie of Colon; a son, Richard Chvatal of Colon; a brother, Joe Chvatal of Morse bluff; a sister, Mary Bartosh of Fremont; two grandsons; a great-grandson, and nieces and nephews. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Swanson Funeral Home in Wahoo, Rev. Armon Vogt is officiating. Interment is at Sunrise Cemetery in Wahoo. Visitation was from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to services today at the funeral home. ~~~~~~
