Bio

Murray Bastian, 50, died in a Victoria hospital Friday morning following a brief illness. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Richardson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. George Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in the Port Lavaca Cemetery. Born March 7, 1927 in Randolph, Texas, Mr. Bastian was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church. He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Letha Crowell and Mrs. Lena Foester, both of Port Lavaca, Mrs. Jessie Preyesmier of Houston and Mrs. Cora Franklin of Anahuac, Texas; and two brothers, Henry Bastlan of Clute, and Robert Bastlan of Inez. Pallbearers will be Terry Bastlan, David Bastlan, Lewis Foster III, Ronnie Steigler, Paul Kelm, Jerry Bastian, Ted Eckert and Lum Bullard.
