Smith Alex Tribune, Friday, September 29, 1933: "Mrs. E.L. Lievsay, 41, died at her home near Alex on last Saturday morning after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 26, at the First Baptist Church, and conducted by Rev. H. E. Cook, of Chickasha. Mrs. Lievsay was born September 25, 1891 at Dreak Creek, Arkansas, and came with her parents to Bryan County, Oklahoma, where in 1909 she was united in marriage with Ernest L. Lievsay. To this union were born three children, one preceding her in death. The family moved to Alex in 1918 and later moved to Chickasha. In 1932 they again moved to their farm near Alex. Mrs. Lievsay united with the Baptist Church when but sixteen years old and has since been a faithful member. She was known to all her fiends and acquaintances as a true, loving Christian woman. Her faith in God seemed even to strengthen by her long illness and constant suffering. In 1921 her health first failed. All medical attention possible was given her, but health could only be restored for short periods of time. Since the first of September, she had failed so rapidly that she told her family and friends that she believed the end of earthly life for her was near, and that she was ready and prepared to meet her great Eternal God. The vacancy, that her passing leaves can never be filled for the family or friends. She leaves to mourn her loss, the husband, Mr. E. L.
