Ross Williams (53730669) Published in the Ord Quiz, Ord, Nebraska Ross Williams Dies August 3 Ross Williams was born May 31, 1906 at a farm home southwest of North Loup, Nebraska, to Roy and Blanche Leach Williams and died Thursday, August 3, 1989 at his home near North Loup at the age of 83. He was raised near North Loup and attended rural school at the Union Ridge School. He married Iva Whalen at North Loup on November 29, 1927. They farmed in the Fusseyville neighborhood south of North Loup until 1957, when they bought the Williams Service Station in North Loup, managing it until retirement. Later Ross drove a school bus for the North Loup-Scotia schools and worked part-time at the Dulitz Service Station in Scotia. Ross was a member of the Friends Church in the Davis Creek area until it closed. Since moving into North Loup, Ross attended the Seventh Day Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Iva; a daughter Delores VanSlyke of Scotia; a son Jimmy Williams of Minneapolis, MN; three grandsons, three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, August 7, 1989 at the Ord Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Sawyer officiating. Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery at North Loup.
