Mother died during voyage to America. Hall County Marriage Records Book 3, p. 536. Fred Lilienthal, age 35, married Grace Mathiesen. (Matthiesen) Grand Island Daily independent 24 Oct 1923 Mrs. Margaret Lilienthal, a resident of Hall county for over thirty years, passed away at her home, 1101 West Charles street, at nine o'clock Tuesday evening, following an extended illness of a complication of ailments. She had been failing in health for several months and since June last she had been confined to her bed almost continuously. She was aged 70 years. Her husband, one daughter and one son preceded her in death. Surviving are three daughters; Mrs. Herman Boltz, of Kenesaw, Mrs. Nellie Grove, residing in Wisconsin, and Miss Amanda Struve, residing at home. She also leaves to mourn her departure two step daughters, Mrs. Gus Boltz and Mrs. Carl Kay, two step-sons, Herman and John Lilienthal, as also two brothers, Julius and Ernest Mathiessen, and two sisters, Mrs. Bernard Ewoldt and Mrs. Fred Schoel. A brother, Detlef Mathiesen, has also preceded her in death. funeral services will be held from the home on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Schumann officiating. burial will take place in the rand Island cemetery.
