Dallas Davis Dallas "Bud" Davis, 76, Pelican Rapids, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at his home. He was born March 13, 1922, in Lida Township of rural Pelican Rapids, to Walter and Alice (Fletcher) Davis. He grew up in rural Pelican Rapids and attended school there, graduating from Pelican Rapids High School in 1941. Following school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served during World War II from March 1943 until March 1946. During that time, he served with the 70th Infantry Division, Quartermaster Company stationed in Oregon, Missouri and Germany. His overseas duty took him to Rhineland Central Europe. He received medals during his duty including Good Conduct, American Theater Service and European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre service. On Feb. 7, 1948, he married Ruth Fick near Vergas. They couple lived in Lida Township where they farmed for 47 years. Mr. Davis served on the Lida Township board and assessor, District 138 School Board, VFW Post 5252 and was a past treasurer and trustee of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Loon Lake. Suvivors include his wife, Ruth; two sons, Dean (Deborah) of Apple Valley and Gene (Andrienne) of Pelican Rapids; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Davis Peterson of Willmar; one brother, W. Harley (Lorraine) of Pelican Rapids; and five grandchildren, Alison, Michael, Sarah, Rachel and Molly Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Allen; a brother, Dellen; and two sisters, Maxine Rice and Lillian Anderson. Visitation: Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church Service: 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Loon Lake, near Vergas Clergy: Rev.
