Bio

From the Monticello News, 21 May 2009 Rose Louise Anderson Law, 89, of Roswell, formerly of Monticello, died Wednesday, May 13, at the Elm Croft Assisted Living and Memory Care in Roswell. Rose Law was born in Wauneta, Wyoming to the late George Washington Anderson and Ada Evalina Smith Anderson. She married Carl Hefton Law in 1939 and after 51 years of marriage he died in 1991. She lived in Jacksonville, Fla. where she worked as a secretary at the Duval County School Board for a number of years. After retirement, the Laws moved to Grass Valley, Calif. and enjoyed square dancing where they traveled the country participating in dance contests. She moved to the Jasper County community of Turtle Cove in 1984 where she resided until having to move to an assisted living residence in 2001. She was a member of the Monticello Presbyterian Church. She loved to quilt and garden and was a member of the Monticello Garden Club and the quilting group. She loved to travel, having seen many parts of the world. Two brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Rebecca Law of Alpharetta; daughter, Jeanette Law of Covington; grandchildren, Elizabeth Schmidt, Christine Ritchie, Debra Heard, and Capt. Michael Turpin; and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held Friday, May 15, at West View Cemetery. Dr. John Brown was to officiate.
