Bio
MRS. MINNIE L. DAVIS Mrs. Minnie Lucas Davis, 88, widow of the late W. Brooks Davis, died Thursday at the Medical Center in Columbus. Ga. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 28, at the First Baptist Church in Durant with the Reverend Durrell Makamson and the Reverend Ed McDaniel officiating. Interment was in Mizpah Cemetery with Southern Funeral Home of Durant in charge. Mrs. Davis was a longtime resident of Durant before moving to Memphis to live with her daughter. She was born in Winfield. Ala. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, a member of Order of the Eastern Star and a former member of the Gamma Club in Durant. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Doug (Dorothy) Lawyer of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, Harold L. Davis of Columbus, Ga.; a brother, Sales Emmett Lucas of Columbus, Ga.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Scott lawyer, Garry Lawyer, David Booker, George Booker, Joe York and N. C. Hathorn. The Holmes County Herald – Page 3 Lexington, MS September 2, 1976
