SHREVEPORT, LA - Hazel Marie Karr Calhoun was born November 8, 1924 in DeQueen, Ar. She went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, October 1, 2003 in Shreveport, La. after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2003 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Brother Randy Johnson of Berean Baptist Temple will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery West, Meriwether Road. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at the funeral home, Friday, October 3, 2003. Hazel was a member of Berean Baptist Temple. She loved to play Bingo and was an avid "42" player. Hazel enjoyed watching Nascar, particularly #8, Dale Jr. and watching the Atlanta Braves. She was preceded in death by her parents one brother two sisters and one granddaughter. Hazel is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ottis Calhoun five sons, Ronnie Calhoun and wife Martha, Marty Calhoun and wife Pam, Kevin Calhoun and wife Virginia, Dennis Calhoun, Wesley Calhoun and wife Tonia two daughters, Nancy Spillman and husband Dwain, Becky Jutze three sisters, Leola LaLena, Sue Evans, Louise Warlick seventeen grandchildren ten great grandchildren a host of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Calhoun, Marty Calhoun, Kevin Calhoun, Dennis Calhoun, Wesley Calhoun, Danny Haley, Mike Jutze, Paul Morse, Mark Morse and Scott Morse.
