Victoria Advocate, Friday, August 13, 1971 HALLETTSVILLE—Mrs. John Chovanetz, 80, of Hallettsville, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday in a Weimar hospital. Mrs. Chovanetz was born in Lavaca County Dec. 28, 1890 and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, KJZT and SA of A. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday atr 10 a.m. from Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Stanley Petru officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday by the parish and at 7:30 by the societies. Survivors include three sons, Alfred, Fred and Edwin Chovanetz, all of Hallettsville; two daughters, Mrs. Joe Grahmann and Mrs. John Pavliska Jr., both of Hallettsville; a brother, Gusw Sciba of Hallettsville; four sisters, Mrs. Joe C. Strauss and Mrs. Fred Netardus, both of Hallettsville, Mrs. John Hrncir of Rosenberg, and Mrs. John Kuch of Taylor; 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Danny and William Grahmann, Franklin, Fred and Billy Chovanetz, and John Pavliska II.
