Wife of Fank J. Zouzalik Sr. ----- The entire community was shocked Saturday afternoon when word was received of the passing of Mrs. Cecelia Anna Zouzalik, wife of Frank Zouzalik of this city, who died in the Shiner Hospital Saturday at 1:15 p.m., following an emergency operation. Funeral services were held Sunday morning at 9:00 o'clock from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia, where Requiem High Mass was said by Rev. J.A. Pustka. Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery here. Active pallbearers were R.H. Grieve, H.A. Schutz, L.J. Sandera, M.J. Neskorik, Ed Sandera and Alphonse Harbich. Mrs. Zouzalik, nee Kocian, was born in Lipnik, Moravia, Austria, on July 2, 1874, and was 68 years and 30 days of age at the time of her death. At the age of eighteen she moved to America and settled with her parents near Praha. In 1895 she was married to Rudolph Bacak, and to this union two children, Julius and Lillie were born. Mr. Bacak died in 1898, and in 1903 she was married to Frank Zouzalik; and settled on a farm four miles west of Flatonia. Seven children were born to this union, one son, Emil, preceding her in death. In 19825 she moved to Flatonia with her husband, where they have lived ever since. She was a member of the Sacred Church and of the Sacred Heart Guild. A dutiful wife, a loving mother and a generous neighbor, she was loved by all who knew her, both within and without the family circle. She is survived by her husband, Frank Zouzalik, Sr.; four sons, Julius Bacak, Edward H. Zouzalik, Albert W. Zouzalik, and Frank Zouzalik, Jr., all of Flatonia; four daughters, Mrs. Lillie Syrinek of Flatonia, Mrs. Annie Albrecht of San Antonio, Mrs. Millie Marie Ling of Edna and Mrs. Agnes Bunton of San Antonio; one sister, Mrs. Anton Vybiral of Flatonia; one brother, Enoch Kocian of Flatonia and nine grandchildren. The Argus joins in extending to the sorrowing survivors its sincerest sympathy in their sorrow. The Flatonia Argus, Flatonia, Texas - Thursday, August 6, 1942
