Victoria Advocate, Friday, Sept. 20, 1968 YOAKUM—Joseph F. Jakubik Sr., 78, a native of Yoakum, died at 3:40 p.m. Thursday in a nursing home here. Funeral services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Saturday from the Buffington Funeral Home chapel, and at 10 a.m. from the St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. John Matocha officiating. A rosary will be recited at the chapel at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr. Jakubik, who resided on Route 3, was a retired mail carrier. He was born March 25, 1890 in Yoakum and was a life-time resident of the area. Surviving are his wife, Josephine E. Jakubik of Yoakum; three daughters, Mrs. George Faltysek of San Antonio, Mrs. John Stryk of Schulenburg, Mrs. Waymon Johnson of Yoakum; two sons, Joseph F. Jr. of Richardson, and Francis of San Jose, Calif.; four sisters, Sister Aloisa of Victoria, Mrs. Janie Pribyl of Victoria, Mrs. Mathilda Janecek of San Antonio, and Mrs. John Redig of Houston; and nine grandchildren.
