Beatrice Marie Faltysek was reunited with her beloved husband George in the presence of Our Lord on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the age of 92. Bea was born in Yoakum, Texas on May 15, 1921 to Joseph and Josephine Jakubik. After graduating as valedictorian from St. Joseph's High School she worked at Tex Tan Industries, a leather goods manufacturer in Yoakum. She met George after he returned from The War and they were married in June of 1948, remaining together over 51 years until his death. After a few years in Yoakum they moved to San Antonio where George was employed by Pearl Brewery and Bea went to work for Juvenile Manufacturing, makers of boy's and young men's clothing. In 1955 she took several years off to raise her young son before returning to Juvenile which became Santone Industries and was eventually acquired by Levi-Strauss, where she was in charge of ordering material. For fun Bea enjoyed fishing with her husband, son and neighbors. She enjoyed playing bingo, bunco and cheering on the Spurs. She also loved music, playing piano and accordion in her youth and continuing to play piano throughout her life. Bea was a devout Catholic who attended daily Mass whenever possible almost until the day she died. She was very active at St. Gregory the Great parish, serving in the Altar Society and for several years as president of the Golden Agers. Bea was preceded in death by her parents and husband, sister Rose Stryk, brother Joseph Jakubik Jr. and sister Loretta Johnson. She is survived by her son Michael Faltysek of San Antonio, brother Frank Jakubik and his wife Sandy of Carrollton, Texas, numerous nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews. Bea was a devoted wife and wonderful mother who was much loved and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. SERVICES A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North on Monday, February 10, 2014 with a Prayer Vigil to begin at 7:00 PM. A Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
