Winfred D. Vallance, 73, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010, after a long battle with cancer. Service: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Winfred was born April 4, 1937, in Plaska to Ruby and Marvin Vallance. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy until his retirement in 1975 as a lieutenant commander of nuclear submarines. Winfred was an intelligent man with a master's degree in physics. After his retirement, he worked for many years in the automotive industry and retired from Four Seasons Automotive in 2008. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Survivors: Wife of 52 years, Beverly Vallance; children, Robbie Vallance, Dan K. Vallance and Norma Amalou; grandchildren, Robbie, Ethen, Dan, Michael and Beverly; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Parker, Jo Upchurch, Marvin Vallance, Wanda Holden and John Vallance; and a host of loving family members and friends.
