Herald Coaster, September 22, 1988: Funeral services for Peter Joe Kucera, 69, of East Bernard, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard, with Father Charles Carolan officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in East Bernard. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Davis-Dawson Funeral Home in East Bernard. Mr. Kucera was born June 28, 1919 in East Bernard. He was a farmer in the East Bernard area. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus of East Bernard and KJT of East Bernard. Survivors include his wife, Celestine of East Bernard; two daughters, Theresa Kettler of Rosenberg, Mary Ann Wade of East Bernard; sons, Pete James of Boling, Tom of East Bernard, Victor of Lancaster, Jerome of East Bernard; a sister, Frances Poetcscher of St. Louis, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Kucera was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn Kucera, in 1973. Friends may call at the Davis-Dawson Funeral Home.
