Bio
Lena Bea was born January 23, 1926 in Josephine, Texas, the daughter of Claude & Elizabeth (Roden) Pope. The 11th child of 13, she was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters. She attended the Josephine schools. During World War II she served our country on the home front by working as a riveter for the Intercontinental Airplane Factory in Dallas. She met the love of her life 57 years ago. Bro. Aaron Coleman united her in marriage with Leonard Eugene Bishop on November 28, 1946 in Greenville, Texas. She made her loving husband Buddy one of the happiest, most loved men alive. They lived their first years together in Houston until he retired from the railroad. Then they moved to Shelby County where they have remained for the last 24 years. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church where she served the Lord's work. She blessed this world by touching the lives of everyone she met. She was everyone's cook, caretaker, baby-sitter, nurse, counselor & friend. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister - they were all the jewels of her life. She had 3 natural born children, but many others claim her as their second mother and grandmother. She was the "treasure" of her family and friends.
