Elsie Katherine Green a long-time resident of Shallowater, Texas for 66 years, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Whisperwood Nursing Home. Born on May 28, 1923 in Josephine, Texas to Claude and Julia Pope, she married Paul Green on April 12, 1941 in Caddo Mills, Texas. She had four children, Carolyn Yeager of Shallowater, Texas, Donald Green of Shallowater, Texas, Wanda Johnson of Lubbock, Texas, and Tim Green of Shallowater, Texas. She has 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren, all of whom loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Paul Green, daughter - Wanda Johnson, son - Donald Green, grand daughter-in-law Wanda Yeager, 5 brothers, Clarence Clifford Pope, Phillip Griffin Pope, Marshall Woodson Pope, Thomas Claude Pope, Alcie Wade Pope, and 6 sisters, Virgie Jewel Biggs, Lillie Lee Poe, Gladys Elizabeth Nixon, Dorothy Daphne Bearding, Avis Faye Morton, Lena Bea Bishop, Mrs. Green is survived by her sister Billie Jo Holt of Caddo Mills, Texas, daughter Carolyn Yeager, and son Tim Green both respectively of Shallowater, Texas. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014, 2:00 pm at Maranatha Church of God, 7505 Ave U, Lubbock, Texas. Direct Interment by Agape Funeral Chapel of Lubbock.
