Bio

Nolan A. 'Hank' Richardson was born Sept. 5, 1930, in Leagueville to Dee and Bessie Darden Richardson. He died Nov. 22, 2004, in Athens. Mr. Richardson served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force for over 16 years, including a tour in Korea. He married Virginia Jane Barnes on Feb. 4, 1956. He earned a BBA from the University of Texas in 1970. He owned and operated Nolan Richardson Wholesale in Athens and Austin. He worked for many years as a field investigator for the health department in Texas and Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Dee Richardson Jr. and Wayne Richardson. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Richardson; daughters, Linda Shirley and Karen and husband, Joe Saxon; sons, Henry and wife, Aya Richardson, and Darrell Richardson; sisters, Joyce Stewart and Ann and husband, Phil Brown; cousins, Vegie and Eva Joyce Darden; and grandchildren, Michael Shirley and Jennifer and husband, Ronn Roberts.
