FROM THE ARCHIVES OF HENDERSON COUNTY HISTORICAL COMMISSION Funeral services for Dee Richardson, 82, are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Foster and Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Grover Bishop and the Rev. Davis Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Mr. Richardson died at 4:20 p.m. Monday in the local hospital following a lengthy illness. Born September 4, 1895, Mr. Richardson was a lifetime resident of Henderson county. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A.V. Richardson and was a member of Central Baptist Church. He operated businesses in this area for 46 years. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bessie Richardson of Athens; three sons, Dee Richardson Jr. and Wayne Richardson, both of Athens, and Nolan Richardson of Austin; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Stewart of Athens and Mrs. Virginia Ann Crawford of Lampasas; one sister, Mrs. Kate Knight of Athens; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
