Thelma Thompson Advocate News Service SEADRIFT — Thelma Thompson, 66, of Seadrift, died Thursday morning at a local hospital after a short illness. She was born Sept. 12, 1916, in Grice, Texas, and was a member of the Seadrift Baptist Church. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Seadrift Baptist Church. The Rev. Don Gallatin will officiate, assisted by Marcus Gohike. Burial will be in Seadrift Cemetery under direction of the Richardson Funeral Home in Port Lavaca. Surviving are her husband, Melvin C. Thompson of Seadrift; two daughters, Linda Hodges and Betty Lively, both of Seadrift; two sons, Floyd Thompson and Jerry Thompson, both of Seadrift; six sisters; two brothers, Ervin McCellon and B.J. McCellon, both of Gilmer; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bob Thormalen, Dennis Wittenebert, Jackson Cross, Kenneth Kirchner, David Gaskamp and Terry Maddox.
