Bio
Shirley Ann McRae, 67, of Centerville passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2010 in Centerville. Shirley was born in Drane, Navarro County, TX to Clarence Warren and Ruby Alice Minze Abbott. She had lived in Leon County since 2003, coming from Limestone County and before that, Frost, TX. Shirley loved to cook and really liked to spend time bass fishing. Her favorite thing was watching her grandchildren grow. In earlier years, Shirley was a seamstress and loved to sew. When she was able, she spent a lot of time outside gardening and canning with her daughter, loved listening to country and honky-tonk music. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Calvin McRae; sister, Nell White; son, Jonathan McRae and grandson, Christopher McRae. Survivors include daughters, brother, sister, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment followed in the Frost Cemetery in Frost, TX. Walters Funeral Home in Centerville was in charge of the arrangements.
