According to funerary documents-- Father: John G. Adams, born in Kentucky Mother: Mary Crabb, born in Indiana "The North Loup Loyalist", North Loup, Nebraska, Friday, Feb. 20, 1942, p 1. [Alice] Mrs. Will Van Horn passed away at ten o'clock Tuesday evening at 4443 St. Paul St., Lincoln. Mrs. Van Horn had a stroke about a week ago from which she did not recover. The funeral will be held from the Seventh Day Baptist Church Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. transcribed by Jon Saunders, contributor 47674050 Feb. 11, 1892, Alice was married to William Van Horn, also of Humboldt. A year later, they joined a band of covered wagons and came as far as Farnam, Nebr. In 1910, they came to North Loup, which has been their home since. Six children were born to them, Lloyd Orell and Hazel Viola Ingraham, both of North Loup, Elwood Burdette of St. Paul, Nebr., Leland Ray, who passed away June 29, 1927, Erma May Walkup and William Sheldon, also of North Loup. She also leaves twenty-two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. An illness left Alice needing constant care. Prior to her husband's death and since then, she has been assisted principally by her two youngest children, Sheldon and Elma Walkup.
