Mr. Floyd H. Hyatt, 73 years of age, of Loup City, Nebraska, died Friday, November 17, 1978 in the Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow, Custer County, Nebraska to which the family established a memorial in his memory. Floyd Homer Hyatt, son of John A. Hyatt and Verna (Sherbeck)Hyatt, was born Nov.21, 1904 at Ansley, Nebraska. He was aged at his passing 73 yrs., 11mos. and 27days old. He grew to manhood on a farm on Clear Creek and attended the Deem School. (east of Westerville, eastern Myrtle Precinct) On Jan. 25, 1927, he was united in marriage to Wilnetta Crawford at Broken Bow, Nebraska and two daughters were born their union. His early life was spent farming and then in 1952 he went into mechanics work at Arcadia, Nebraska. Later, he worked for John Deere dealers in Elm Creek, Hebron, Wahoo and Loup City, all in Nebraska. He retired in Loup City in 1969. Floyd became a member of the rural Liberty Christian Church northeast of Ansley in the old neighborhood in 1922, later transferring his membership to First Baptist Church in Loup City. He is survived by two daughters, Vera Stunkel of Ansley, Nebraska and Mavis Hyatt of Oxford, Nebraska, four grandsons, seven great-grandchildren; and also three sisters, Mary Moody of Arcadia, Irene Russell of Aurora and Leona Porter of Arcadia, and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his wife and his parents. Funeral services for Mr. Hyatt were conducted on Monday, Nov. 20, 1978 at 10:00a.m. in the Govier Brothers Mortuary Chapel who had charge of arrangements, in Broken Bow, Nebraska, with the Rev. Clay Deaver, pastor of an Independent Church in Arcadia, Nebraska in charge. At the memorial service, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Babcock sang, accompanied at organ by Mrs. John (Phyllis Ayres) Bowling, Broken Bow. Pallbearers were Chester Babcock, Sr., Tom Mills, Russell Burcham, Labon Deaver, Melvin Sherbeck and Maurice Carver.
