MARRIED JUNE 10, 1950 PFC US ARMY WORLD WAR II SEADRIFT James E. Rudd, 80, a long time resident of Seadrift, passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2007. He was born May 2, 1927 in Keltys, (Lufkin) to the late Ella Pearl Burks Rudd and James Elias Rudd. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and Korea. He was employed with Alcoa Aluminum. James enjoyed taking walks, riding and working on bikes, and especially working in his garden. Most of all, he enjoyed tinkering with anything he could get his hands on. He will be missed by all of his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Betsy Joyce Spears Rudd, daughters, sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, granddaughter, one niece and one nephew. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church in Seadrift at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow in Seadrift Cemetery. VICTORIA ADVOCATE (Victoria, Texas) Tuesday, August 7, 2007, page 8
