Bio
Sophie Podsednik, age 85 of West, passed away December 22, 1995, in a Waco hospital. Rosary was recited at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 23 in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1:45 p.m. Dec. 28 in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. Mrs. Podsednik was born June 29, 1910 at Hoen in McLennan County. She married August E. Podsednik in 1929. They moved to Abbott in 1932. They lived and farmed in the Abbott area until his death in 1971, at which time she moved to West. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and the St. Mary's Altar/Rosary Society. Mrs. Podsednik is survived by three sisters, Bertha Sager of Leroy, Annie Cocek of Tours, and Emma Vrba of Abbott; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Tony Pustejovsky, Dennis Pustejovsky, George Snokhous, Douglas Snokhous, Rick Stacha, Gary Stacha, Chris Stacha and Tommie Podsednik.
