OBITUARY: The Cooper Review, Delta County, Texas, January 18, 1927 "Mrs. L. O. Dale, Pioneer of County, Buried Here" The remains of Mrs. Laura O. Dale who died at the home of her son, Walter, in Greenville last Friday at 2 p.m. were brought to Cooper Saturday, reaching here at 2 p.m. and were conveyed to Oak Lawn where they were interred in the family burial lot. The funeral was in charge of Nees funeral directory of Greenville. Rev. R. C. Hicks, pastor of one of the M. E. Churches of Greenville, conducted a service at Greenville and at the grave read the church burial rites, following prayer by Rev. Shawver. Relatives who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dale and sons, Raymond, who teaches at Ben Franklin, and Carl, of Dallas; Lawrence Dale of Detroit, son of Will Dale, and Mrs. Grover Beale, daughter of Will Dale, and family of Clarksville. A number of friends of the family also accompanied the body here. Deceased was 78 years and 22 days old at her death. She was born in Mississippi and came to Texas with her family about 45 years ago, having lived in Arkansas a short time before moving to Delta County. Her husband passed away many years ago. She is survived by two sons, Walter Dale of Greenville, and Will Dale of Detroit, and a brother P. B. Studdard, of Cedar Creek community. She was a member of the Methodist Church and was a devoted mother, and served her children in every way she could during her long and eventful life."
