Bio

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for George Milton Allen at the Methodist church with Rev. J.O. Quattlebaum, officiating. Mr. Allen, a prominent farmer in the Sunnyview community and a resident of Donley County for the past 32 years, passed away in a Dallas hospital, Sept. 10, after a short illness. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C.J. Brooks of Tyler and Mrs. G.T. Josey of Hale Center; and one son, Riley Allen of Clarendon. Also two brothers, Bryant Allen of Clarendon and Earl D. Allen of Lubbock. Seven nephews, 12 nieces and 8 grandchildren. Pallbearers were L.L. Taylor, J.A. Warren, Jim Garland, W.B. Webb, J.R. Bulls and Bert Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Z.D. Davis, Frank Hardin, Glenn Williams, Dudley Wilson, Nelson Riley, Odis Naylor and A.J. Garland. Burial was in citizens Cemetery with funeral arrangements under the direction of Womack Funeral Home.
