Bio

Mayme Jaynes, 94, of Valley Mills, Texas, passed away Monday at a local hospital. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 28, at the First Baptist Church in Valley Mills under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. A reception and visitation for friends and family will follow the memorial service at the church fellowship hall. Mayme was born near Valley Mills, Texas, to the late Thomas "Tom" and Ida (Childress) Weir. In 1932, she married W. A. "Bill" Jaynes in Gatesville, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002; a son, Tommy Jaynes; brothers, Guy, Cullin, Charles, Fred, Hill; and a sister, Mary Belle Weir. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Charlton, of Waco; sons, Larry Jaynes and wife, Lisa, of Waco and Weldon Jaynes and wife, Judy, of Arlington; grandchildren, Tracey Jaynes, Brian Jaynes, John Charlton, Richard Charlton, Greg Jaynes, Kelly Beaulieu, Amanda Wilsey, and Erik Jaynes; and 12 great-grandchildren.
