Rains County Leader July 25, 2006 Funeral service for Sarah Lucille Chaney, 92, of Alba, will be held Thursday, July 27, at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home Chapel in Alba with Mr. Frank Summers officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home of Alba. Her grandsons Bobby Chaney, Johnny Chaney, Tommy Chaney, Brian Chaney, Michael Chaney and Jonathan Swafford will serve as pallbearers. She died Monday, July 24, at Wood Memorial Nursing Home in Mineola. She was born September 7, 1913, in Henderson to Joseph and Nancy Alice Curbo McCook. Mrs. Chaney lived in Alba most of her life and was a member of the Alba Ladies' Club and Alba Church of Christ. She was a sales representative for Avon since 1958 and was in Avon's President's Club. She is survived by a son and two daughters-in-law, Jimmy Chaney and wife D'Lynn of Arlington and Mary Chaney of Alba; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Curtis Chaney; her parents; four brothers, Levell McCook, Verlie McCook, Thomas McCook, and Homer McCook; a sister, Minnie Courtney; a son, Don Chaney; and a great-grandson, Ryder Chaney.
